Would you like to guess how Aaron Judge began the home portion of his 2026 season?

Yep, you probably guessed correctly.

The Yankees captain wasted no time in firing up a lively crowd in The Bronx for the home opener, smashing a two-run home run to left on the third pitch he saw in Friday afternoon’s first inning against the Marlins.

The no-doubter, which was launched off a Eury Pérez slider that did not slide, put the Yankees ahead, 2-1, and quickly seized momentum and a lead after a top-of-the-first shot from Miami’s Xavier Edwards.

Judge, whose Yankees played their first six games on the road, has begun his campaign strangely: After the home run, he was just 4-for-25 (.160) with 11 strikeouts and one walk — but of those four hits, three cleared the wall for home runs.
