Netflix never ceases to surprise us, and this week’s top 10 most popular shows are no exception.

The No. 1 show right now is Fit For TV: The Reality of the Biggest Loser, which is also one of Watch With Us‘ picks for the three underrated Netflix shows to watch this weekend.

This week’s remaining picks include a newly arrived animated series, Long Story Short, and a sci-fi show that debuted on CBS just over a decade ago with a genuine movie star in the leading role.

It’s a strong lineup of shows this week, and we’re just as eager to watch them as you are.

‘Extant’ (2014 – 2015)

EXTANT - Series Premiere Extended Preview

Halle Berry gives Extant some star power, and it was a big deal when she headlined her own TV series in 2014. Berry plays Molly Woods, an astronaut who is eager to end her 13-month solo mission in space so she can return home to her husband, John Woods (ER‘s Goran Visnjic), and their adoptive son, Ethan Wood (Pierce Gagnon).

Ethan is actually just an advanced robot who can pass as a human. Molly knew about that, but what she can’t get her head around is that she is somehow pregnant. Although Molly doesn’t want anyone to know that, it’s not a secret she can keep forever. And Molly may not want to face the truth when she investigates how she became pregnant in the first place.

Extant is streaming on Netflix.

‘Long Story Short’ (2025)

Long Story Short comes from Raphael Bob-Waksberg, the creator of Netflix’s BoJack Horseman. This is a marked departure from Bob-Wakasberg’s previous series simply because it’s treated like an actual animated sitcom rather than a parody of one. Avi (Ben Feldman), Shira (Abbi Jacobson) and Yoshi (Max Greenfield) are all siblings in a Jewish family led by their parents, Elliot (Paul Reiser) and Naomi Schwartz (Lisa Edelstein).

The interesting thing here is that the series also jumps forward in time to reveal that Avi has a wife, Jen (Angelique Cabral), and a daughter, Hannah (Michaela Dietz), while Shira has a girlfriend, Kendra (Nicole Byer), and Yoshi doesn’t seem to have someone for him. Their lives are interconnected, no matter how old they get. But their happiness can be fleeting.

Fit For TV: The Reality of the Biggest Loser (2025)

The Biggest Loser was a reality competition series that pitted extremely obese contestants against each other in a race to lose the most weight before the end of the season. The cash prize was a great incentive for some of them to shed their pounds, but the reality of this show may not have been what you saw on screen.

Fit For TV: The Reality of the Biggest Loser features interviews with several former contestants, some of whom are now in worse shape than they were on the TV series. This definitely isn’t the feel-good story of the year, but it may more accurately convey what was really happening behind the scenes of The Biggest Loser. It also sparked some controversy concerning former host Jillian Michaels, who pushed back on some of the allegations made in the series.
